The word “silent” is included in the name of the Wine Enthusiast 12-Bottle Silent Wine Refrigerator because it uses a solid state thermoelectric cooling system to chill your favorite wines.
Thermoelectric cooling does not require a compressor or refrigerants that can harm the ozone layer. It has a minimum of moving parts and is virtually vibration-free. This means that it operates at very low decibel levels that are comparable to soft conversation in a quiet neighborhood.
This Wine Enthusiast wine cooler has a temperature range of 50 to 66°F allowing you to store white, rosé, and red wines. It is not, however, suitable for dessert and sparkling wines such as Champagne or Sauternes which require lower temperatures. Temperature levels are adjusted through push-button controls with an LED readout mounted on the top door frame.
There are three chrome wine shelves within the cabinet. Each of these carries four 750-ml bottles in undulating wire racks to prevent them from rolling and disturbing the wine sediments. The shelves can be pulled out for ease of storing and taking out the bottles. An interior LED light is provided to showcase your wines.
The wine refrigerator is designed to sit on your countertop, but not in an enclosed area as its back does generate some heat. It may be installed in your kitchen, below the cupboards, or on your bar counter. Its black body and stainless steel door frame easily blends with any kitchen décor.
The door frame incorporates a recessed chrome door handle and encloses a thermopane glass door that insulates the cooler keeping hot air from entering and cold air from exiting.
