At a height of 28.5 inches, the Vinotemp 28TEDS Wine Cooler can be installed as a freestanding cooler on the floor, top of a table, or countertop. It is 18.25 inches wide and 22 deep.
Its shiny black cabinet complements the stainless steel trim of the door frame. This encloses a dual pane glass door allowing the display of the wine inside. It also serves to insulate the cooler keeping cold air from leaking out. On the right frame is a long towel rack-type door handle that is also made of stainless steel. At the top are the temperature control buttons, interior light switch, and an LED digital temperature display.
Inside the cooler are six chrome wire-shelf racks that are strong enough to support four bottles each. These are scalloped to keep the wine bottles from moving and thus prevent the agitation of the wine sediments that could adversely affect the taste and bouquet of the wine. For ease of storage and retrieval of the bottles, the racks can be pulled out. In addition to the racks, another four bottles can also be stored in the cabinet’s bottom shelf. A total of 28 can thus be chilled in the wine cooler. A soft blue light is mounted at the ceiling to illuminate your collection.
The Vinotemp 28TEDS Wine Cooler utilizes a thermoelectric cooling system. This solid state system does not need a compressor and has a minimum of moving parts. This results in a quiet and vibration-free operation. This, too, helps in keeping the wine sediments still. Further, the system does not rely on ozone-damaging CFCs or HCFCs. It is also more energy-efficient than compressor-reliant cooling mechanisms.
The cooler is capable of lowering temperatures to 54 – 66°F. Thus, you can chill full-bodied white wines like White Burgundy and all kinds of reds from the juicy and fruity Beaujolais to the rich and intense Bordeaux. Medium to light-bodied whites and sparkling wines may need a cooler that can further bring down temperature levels, though.
