With measurements that are only slightly bigger than the average convection oven toaster or microwave oven, the Vinotemp VT-16TEDS Thermoelectric Wine Cooler fits perfectly on a kitchen or bar counter. And as it comes in a shiny black cabinet embellished with a stainless steel door trim, it blends seamlessly with any kitchen décor or existing appliances.
The VT-16TEDS relies on a thermoelectric cooling system to chill your favorite wines. This is a solid state mechanism with very few moving parts which results in a quiet and vibration-free operation. This minimal vibration can also be attributed to the absence of a compressor. Also, no chlorofluorocarbons are necessary for cooling thus making the cooler environmentally-friendly. One drawback of this system, however, is that it requires an ambient temperature of 77°F and below to effectively cool your wine.
For as long as ambient temperature is within this limit, temperature inside the cooler can be adjusted using the control panel mounted on the top door frame. This consists of push buttons and a digital display.
Inside the wine cooler are three scalloped wire racks, each capable of holding four wine bottles, which are designed to keep the bottles and the wine sediments inside them still. The bottom of the cabinet holds an additional four bottles.
With the help of a soft interior light, you can see your wine collection through the glass door. The door is double-paned and is framed with a door trimmed in stainless steel. This opens on the right of the cooler with a towel rack type of handle that is also made of stainless steel.
In addition to displaying your wine collection, the double-pane glass door also provides superior insulation. It keeps hot air from leaking into the interior and at the same time keeps the cool air from escaping outside.
