Made of black finished hardwood with two French doors that both open at the middle of the cabinet, the Vinotemp Hamilton 2-Door Credenza is a remarkable piece of furniture that would be very much at home in a formal dining room. Of course, if you want it in your kitchen, there is nothing to stop you from putting it there. After all, it is also a wine cooler.
The Vinotemp Hamilton’s cooling system is a blend of thermoelectric cooling technology and compressor cooling with the refrigerant R134a, considered to be the least harmful to the ozone layer. This system is capable of quickly and efficiently cooling up to 40 wine bottles in the two separate zones of the cooler. The bottles rest on chrome shelves that are scalloped to hold them still thus keeping the wine sediments undisturbed.
The two zones have their own individual control knobs to regulate their temperature. One zone can thus be set at a higher level for the storage of red wine, while the other is adjusted to lower temperatures for white or sparkling wines.
The French doors feature double glass panes. This is intended to provide better insulation to reduce heat conductivity between the exterior and interior of the cabinet. The knobs for the opening of the doors are in stainless steel whose gleaming surfaces stand out in sharp contrast to the cabinet’s dark finish.
The cooler is a freestanding unit that has dimensions of 32.75″ H x 42.375″ W x 22″ D. The top surface area is big enough to accommodate finger foods and other appetizers.
