With its five racks, curved in four places to fit the contours of the wine bottles to prevent them from moving, the Sunpentown WC-20TL Thermoelectric Wine Cooler can accommodate 20 bottles. The racks can be pulled out which eases bottle retrieval.
The wine cooler is rather small, somewhere between compact and mid-sized, with a height of less than 22 inches, and approximately 16 and 20 inches wide and deep respectively. It is best installed on a countertop. It blends well with other appliances or furniture because of its clean and straightforward yet attractive design. A reflective glass door adds to the cooler’s pleasant appearance.
Noise is not a problem with the WC-20TL because it uses a solid state thermoelectric cooling system. Indeed, sound level is only at 30dBA, just slightly louder than a soft whisper. More important, though, is that the cooler is environmentally friendly because it does not use chlorofluorocarbon refrigerants. Also, this cooling mechanism does not rely too much on moving parts. This eliminates vibrations and therefore keeps the wine sediments undisturbed for better aging.
The reflective glass door does not only enhance the looks of the Sunpentown WC-20TL Thermoelectric Wine Cooler. It reflects ultraviolet rays keeping them out of the cabinet interior. It is double-paned to help insulate the inner cabinet and maintain its temperature settings.
An adjustable thermostat with an LED display resets temperature levels from a low of 54 to a high of 66°F. The touch sensitive controls are mounted at the top frame of the glass door. With this range, storing champagne, dessert wines, and light-bodied whites may not be feasible, but you can have full-bodied whites like Chardonnay and Rhone. As for red wine, you can have them all from light- through medium- and full-bodied.
