Sunpentown WC-1682 Thermoelectric Wine Cooler

 Sunpentown WC-1682 Thermoelectric Wine Cooler

With a footprint that is just about the same size as your average convection toaster oven, the Sunpentown WC-1682 Thermoelectric Wine Cooler does not occupy an inordinately huge space on your kitchen or bar countertop. Neither will it clash with most kitchen décor or appliances. Its black cabinet and platinum door trim blend seamlessly with almost any environment.

A thermoelectric cooling system chills the 16 bottles that the cooler can accommodate. This system is environmentally-friendly as it does not use harmful chlorofluorocarbons. It does not have a compressor thus minimizing, if not eliminating, vibrations that could result in stirring and agitating wine sediments. Since its only moving part is a fan that removes hot air from the cooler and circulates cool air in it, it operates quietly.

The 16 bottles inside the cooler are cradled by three chrome shelves that can be pulled out for convenience in storing and retrieving the bottles. In addition to the three, there is also a fixed rack at the bottom shelf. These are scalloped to keep the wine bottles from rolling over, thus also preventing the agitation of wine sediments.

These bottles can be cooled to temperatures ranging from 52° to 65°F using buttons on the control panel mounted on the top door frame. This range allows you to store white, rosé, and red wines. The cooler, however, is not suitable for sweet and sparkling wines as these require lower temperatures. Further, the cooler is able to cool your wine only if ambient temperature is between 52° and 89°F.

A dual paned glass door, along with an interior light emitting soft illumination, allows a dramatic showcasing of your wine bottles. The door is also tinted, which prevents the entry of harmful ultraviolet rays into the cooler’s interior. Finally, it insulates the cooler, keeping hot air out and cool air in.

This freestanding cooler stands 20 inches high on four leveling legs. It has a width of 17 inches and depth of 19 inches.
