Looking very modern with its platinum housing, tinted glass door and frame finished in platinum, and a large door handle of the same finish, the Sunpentown WC-12 Thermoelectric Cooler makes a great addition to your kitchen or bar.
This countertop wine cooler features three removable shelves that are scalloped to prevent the wine bottles from rolling while inside the cabinet. This is important because agitating the wine sediments can have adverse effects on the bouquet and taste of the wine. These shelves cradle nine bottles, while the fixed bottom can hold another three.
A solid state thermoelectric cooling system chills the 12 bottles to temperatures ranging from 50 to 66°F. Thus, while the cooler may be suited for red, white, and rose wines, it is not recommended for sparkling and dessert wines which require lower temperatures. A thermostat with digital controls and an LED display adjusts and indicates temperature levels. You can choose to display this in either Fahrenheit or Celsius.
Owing to its thermoelectric cooling system, this Sunpentown wine cooler is a quiet appliance generating a mere 30 dB level of humming which is about the sound of a soft whisper. It is also vibration-free as it has very few moving parts, contributing to keeping the wine sediments motionless. But perhaps what is most important is that it does not use a compressor with chlorofluorocarbons that are known to harm the ozone layer.
The glass door is tinted to prevent the entry of ultraviolet rays that could also harm the wine. It is double-paned to insulate the cooler from heat. At the same time, though, it also displays your collection of wines. A soft interior light helps highlight the bottles.
The cooler has dimensions of 19″ H x 14″ W x 21″ D including its handle.
