Summit SWC1530 Wine Cooler

Summit SWC1530 Wine Cooler

A lot of wine coolers are installed in the kitchen alongside the refrigerator or built-in ovens, but the Summit SWC1530 Wine Cooler, with its 14-inch width, is compact enough to be installed anywhere in the house. It could be in your den or your wine and liquor bar. It is 33.5 inches high so it will fit nicely under the counter. Its front vent allows this. It has a depth of 24 inches.

With the cooler’s black cabinet and stainless steel door trim it can blend seamlessly with most décor. The towel-bar type stainless steel door handle that runs the full height of the door frame adds form and even function to the cabinet as you don’t have to bend down to open it. The interior, seen through the double-paned glass door, is colored white providing a bright background to the stored wine bottles.

The wine bottles, up to 28 of them, are cradled in five scalloped wire racks and the bottom shelf. An interior light is installed to illuminate the bottles which makes reading their labels easier.

Temperature is controlled by a digital adjustable thermostat through an electronic control panel and an LCD monitor displaying the temperature in the cooler. These are installed on the top door frame for visibility. In case actual temperatures fall below the set level, perhaps due to an open door, an alarm is set off to warn you.

The cooling system is compressor-based. This enables the cooler to reach temperatures as low as 39°F thus allowing the chilling of desert and sparkling wines, as well as light-bodied whites. An auto defrost mechanism prevents the build up of ice and excessive chilling.
