If you have heard about the French paradox and are convinced that drinking moderate amounts of wine, particularly reds, is beneficial, you might want to know that the health-giving chemicals in wine are preserved only if it is kept in its proper storage temperature. To preserve the resveratrol, procyanidins, and polyphenols you will have to store your wine in a wine refrigerator like the NewAir Thermoelectric Wine Cooler AW-210ED.
With a width of 13½ inches, depth of 20, and height of 32¼, the freestanding AW-210ED is a slim and moderately tall wine cooler. Even with this size, it can hold 21 bottles in seven chrome-plated racks designed like waves so the bottles are kept in place.
The wine cooler consists of two separate zones, each with its own glass door, blue LED interior light, and digital temperature controls with LED display. The upper zone has two racks for six bottles, while the lower has five for 15 bottles.
The glass doors, which allow the display of your wine collection, are bordered with a black frame that matches the black cabinet body. With this all-black design with the stylish chrome door handles, the AW-210ED can complement any other appliance you may have in your kitchen.
As incandescent lighting exudes heat that affects interior temperatures, NewAir opted to use an LED lamp to light up your wine bottles. The color blue provides a more dramatic display.
With the separate temperature controls, you can set the upper zone at a low of 44°F for your sparkling Sauternes and Muscats, and the lower at the maximum 65°F for your full-bodied red Shiraz and Rhone wines.
The AW-210ED relies on a solid state thermoelectric cooling system. As the cooling fan is the system’s only moving part, there is a minimum, if not zero, vibration and noise. Also, there is neither compressor nor refrigerants.
