One of the best features of the Marvel 61WCM-BB-G Wine Refrigerator is its slanting top rack. Wine bottles can be clearly and fully displayed on it in a way that their labels can be easily read. A light on the refrigerator ceiling helps in this.
In addition to the inclined rack are four horizontal shelves. These can be pulled out for easier storage and access to the bottles. These are fitted with built-in safety stops, and are trimmed with solid white maple fronts. A fixed wine bottle cradle is also at the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. All these can hold a total of 45 bottles, including magnums.
The wine refrigerator cabinet comes with three options –all black exterior and interior, all white exterior and interior, and stainless steel door trim, with black cabinet and interior. A dual pane glass door is enclosed by the door frame. The space between the two glass panes is filled with the inert gas Argon to insulate the cooling chamber. They are also tinted to protect the wine from harmful UV rays.
The cooling system consists of a compressor that is capable of lowering temperatures to a range of 40 – 65°F, a range that can chill Champagne, Chardonnay, Chianti, or Cabernet Sauvignon to their recommended serving temperatures. It has an auto defrost mechanism to prevent the build up of frost which could lead to excessive cooling.
The temperature is set with digital adjustable thermostat controls discreetly mounted behind the top frame of the door. An amber LED display indicates real time temperature in the cooling chamber.
An exclusive MicroSentry Refrigeration monitor assures that the temperature that has been set remains constant by activating both visual and audible alarms if the temperature fluctuates for an extended period, and when the door is left open.
The Marvel 61WCM-BB-G Wine Refrigerator can be installed either as a freestanding or built-in cooler. The front vent below the door allows this. Its height of 34 inches is just about right for a below-the-kitchen-counter installation. It has a width and depth of approximately 24 inches.
