With the dual zone cooling system of the Kalorik 18-Bottle Wine Cooler, model WCL-20629, you can store white wine, champagne, red wine, or rosé in a single cooler at optimal levels of temperature and humidity.
Setting of the temperature levels of the two compartments of the cooler is accomplished through two pairs of push button controls and two digital temperature displays, one for each of the compartments. The upper division’s temperature ranges from 7 to 12°C, making it the place to store your white wine and champagne. The lower division has a temperature ranging from 12 to 18°C, a level well suited to red wine and rosé.
A thermoelectric peltier unit enables the wine cooler to maintain the desired temperatures. Since this does not rely on a compressor, it does not vibrate and thus does not disturb the wine sediments. Neither does it use chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) and thus does not harm the ozone layer. In addition to this, the back of the cooler also has a fan that draws out heated air and circulates cool air for even cooling.
The insulated double-paned tempered glass door, framed in metallic silver-finished steel, likewise helps in keeping cool air in and hot air out of the cooler. The glass is tinted to keep the wine from harmful light.
This Kalorik model can carry 18 bottles, six in an upper compartment and 12 in the lower. The bottles lie on their side on scalloped chrome shelves. This prevents them from rolling and agitating the wine sediments.
The bottles inside the cooler can be illuminated and showcased using an LED soft light that is activated by an off/on switch independently of the door. An LED is used instead of an incandescent lamp because the latter exudes heat and can adversely affect desired temperatures.
With dimensions of 66 cm in height, 49 cm in width, and 34 cm in depth, the Kalorik 18-Bottle Wine Cooler is meant to be set on a countertop.
