The Kendall, apart from cooling your wines, has two racks for your stemware. These are set right in the middle of the wine bar in between the two cooling zones. Right above it is a drawer where wine accessories, such as a wine bottle opener, aerator, stoppers, and pourers can be stored. Thus, you have everything you need to enjoy your wine in the Kendall.

The two cooling zones that are separated by the wine glass racks have each a capacity of 21 wine bottles. These are cradled in scalloped wine racks to prevent them from rolling over and disturbing the wine sediments and adversely affecting its aroma and taste. These are finished in chrome to protect them from rust and to give them a nice shiny look. They can also be removed for ease of cleaning.

Utilizing a hybrid cooling system that has both a solid state thermoelectric cooler and a compressor-based mechanism, the Kendall guarantees that your wines are continually kept at their recommended storage temperatures. At the same time, it also keeps cooling costs down.

Temperature levels in the two cooling cabinets can be set independently of each other. Thus, you can store your Champagne or Chablis in one of the cabinets at lower temperatures while keeping your Bordeaux or Rhone wines in the other at higher levels. Temperature in both cooling zones starts at 50° up to a maximum of 65°F.

Credenzas are still used as sideboards, but they are now used more for displaying food and storing utensils. The Vinotemp VT-Napa2 Wine Credenza performs this function for wine, and it does so beautifully.

The VT-Napa2 is crafted from wood finished in rich walnut. Vertically, it is divided into three sections. The outer two, which are actually the wine coolers, are equipped with wood-framed glass doors with a bronzed metal grid mounted before them. The grid is decorated with a grapevine detail, providing a none too subtle hint to what is kept behind the doors. The middle section is an open cabinet with two shelves and two sets of suspended stemware racks. Above the doors and cabinet are three drawers where you can store bottle openers, coasters, bottle stoppers, and other wine-related paraphernalia.

The wine coolers can each hold 20 bottles of wine. As their temperatures can be set independently starting at 50° – 65°F, you can adjust one for the storage of red wines and the other for whites. It has two main sections –a lower section enclosed with dual glass doors and an upper section sealed with two paneled doors. The lower area houses the wine refrigerator while the upper serves as storage for wine glasses, decanters, corkscrews, stoppers, and other wine serving and drinking accessories. All doors are opened with bronze ring knobs.

The wine refrigerator is divided vertically into two cooling zones, each having its own door. The temperature of these zones can be set individually allowing you to chill your Chardonnay and Chablis at 50°F in one zone, while keeping Bordeaux and Burgundy in the other at 65°F.

On the other hand, thermoelectric cooling systems may be free of chlorofluorocarbons but often they are unable to properly chill desert, sparkling, and even light-bodied whites. This especially true when ambient temperature is high.

By combining the two, the Bordeaux2C activates its compressor only when the thermoelectric system is unable to lower temperatures to the desired level. To minimize the environmental impact of the compressor, the refrigerant 134a is used. Of all the available refrigerants, this is the least harmful.

The Bordeaux2C is a beautiful oak-finished credenza that is completely at home in formal dining rooms and living rooms. Its rich warm tone is a perfect complement to most furniture or room. It has two glass doors with arched tops framed in wood, with one hinged on the left of the credenza and the other on the right.

The doors open to two cooling zones whose temperatures can be set independently of each other.
