Its Flexi-Temp technology allows the setting of two different temperatures in the two zones of the cooler. These can be as low as 39°F or as high as 65°F. You can, for instance, set the upper zone at 43°F for your Sauternes, Muscats, and Champagne; and at the same time set the lower zone at 60°F for your Madeira, Zinfandel, and Chianti.
Temperature is adjusted with intuitive control buttons and two LED readouts mounted on the dividing panel between the two zones. Also included are buttons for the automatic settings of temperatures recommended for red and white wines.
The wine cooler has five full-depth storage racks. Two are in the upper zone while three are in the lower. In addition to the three in the lower zone, there are also two half-depth racks. These are made of flat wire coated in black vinyl to keep the bottles from sliding along the racks and agitating the wine sediments. These racks can carry a total of 35 wine bottles.
The glass door, while allowing the showcasing of your collection, also protects them from harmful UV rays. It is held by a plastic door frame that incorporates a recessed handle. In order to prevent any abrupt door closing that might disturb the wine, an automatic door stop in installed.
The cooling mechanism of the Haier Wine Cooler Model HVZ035ABS is based on a compressor with refrigerant. It is rear-vented and thus is not suitable for built-in installation.
