Designed for beginning collectors and for persons whose kitchens do not allow them to install larger wine coolers, the Haier HVTS06BSS Wine Cellar has a footprint of only 1.33 square feet. This compact wine refrigerator is meant to sit on your kitchen counter as a freestanding unit cooling six bottles of your favorite wine.
Made of stainless steel and a glass door that allows you to peer into its interior, the cooler blends well with any other appliance as well as any kitchen décor. At the upper section of the door are touch screen digital controls that adjust temperature settings and an LCD display showing temperature readings.
The glass door is encased in a stainless steel frame, at the right side of which is a recessed door handle. The glass part of the door consists of dual panes that insulate the cooler preventing the exit of cold air from its interior and the entry of warm air. It also filters ultraviolet rays as these could adversely affect your wine’s aroma and taste.
Inside the cabinet are two full-width wire racks that are coated with chrome. Each of these carries two wine bottles that are illuminated with a soft interior light. These are scalloped to keep the bottles and the wine sediments from getting agitated. The bottom shelf holds two more bottles.
The Haier HVTS06BSS Wine Cellar is equipped with a thermoelectric cooling system that is both noise- and vibration-free. This is because moving parts are kept to a minimum. The cooler is also environmentally friendly, as it does not use chlorofluorocarbons that could harm the ozone layer.
The cooling system can bring temperatures inside the cabinet down to 46° – 65°F, allowing you to chill Champagne and Asti at 46° or Bordeaux and Burgundy at 65°, and all the other types of wines in between.
