As you expand your collection of wines, you outgrow the first low-capacity wine cooler you purchased as a novice collector. Once you are exposed to the many collectible bottles, you will need a cooler that can hold at least a hundred. The EuroCave Comfort 101 Wine Cellar is one of such coolers.
This EuroCave wine cellar, measuring 41″ H x 26″ W x 27 1/4″ D, can accommodate as many as 117 wine bottles sized 750 mL. It comes with two shelves where the bottles can be stacked on top of each other. You can, however, purchase additional shelves. EuroCave shelves are of different types. There is a Bordeaux bottle shelf that can carry 78 bottles, while another, a sliding type, can hold only 11. There is also a universal shelf for 77 bottles and a sliding version for 12. Other sliding shelves are the Alsace, Champagne, and Magnum which can accommodate 11, 10, and 7 bottles respectively.
The cabinet, including the solid door, is finished with a black matte. This makes it blend easily with any kitchen décor or motif. The door, by default, is hinged on the right but this can be reversed to suit your preferences or installation requirements. In order to safeguard your collection, a locking device is included with the door.
The cooler has a temperature range of 50 to 60°F provided the ambient temperature does not exceed 95°F. This mimics the temperature within the caves where the first winemakers stored their produce. You can store all kinds of wine in this cooler, although you may have to further chill dessert and sparkling wines to attain their recommended serving temperatures.
The EuroCave Comfort 101 Wine Cellar operates a compressor to lower temperature levels in the cooler. The desired level can be adjusted using an adjustment dial and an LED display. A safety thermostat automatically regulates temperatures if it senses huge variations from the set level.
As the compressor emits a fair amount of heat, and the cooler does not have a venting system at its front, it can only be installed as a freestanding unit.
