With a temperature range of 54° to 64°F, this EdgeStar model is suited particularly for red wines as white and sparkling wines require lower serving temperatures. Its adjustable thermostat allows you to set the temperature that is appropriate to your red wines.
The cooler utilizes an environmentally-friendly solid state thermoelectric cooling mechanism. It has no compressor that vibrates when it runs, and no ozone-depleting chlorofluorocarbons. Instead, it uses a ceramic cooling node through which electric current is passed to cool its interior. This leaves the internal fan to be the only moving part in the system making the cooler vibration- and noise-free. It circulates cool air in the cooler thus eliminating hot spots and assuring even cooling.
Outside, the EdgeStar Thermoelectric Wine Cooler sports a shiny black cabinet with a complementary metallic silver door trim. This frames a dual pane, thermopane glass door that does not only add to the style and class of the cooler but also insulates it from hot air as well as protect your collection from harmful UV rays. A towel bar handle in pro style runs along the right door frame. In can, however, be moved to the left if you’d rather open the cooler door on that side.
The 16 wine bottles that the cooler can accommodate are visible through the glass doors. They rest on three scalloped racks plus on the bottom shelf of the cabinet. The racks can be slid out for easy bottle storage and pull out. The bottles are illuminated with an LED light to display your wine bottles.
