Danby Wine Cooler Model DWC612BLP

Collecting wine has recently become a popular hobby. You too can enjoy collecting wines of different vintages from different vintners, each having its own distinctive taste, bouquet, aroma, body, and quality; after all, storing them no longer requires you to have your own cave as they did centuries ago, or even an underground cellar. You can store your collection right in your kitchen in a Danby Wine Cooler Model DWC612BLP.

Standing almost five feet with a width and depth of approximately two feet, the DWC612BLP is big enough to hold about 75 bottles of wine, depending only on the bottles’ shapes and sizes. There are 10 beechwood-faced shelves, eight of which are flat, one off-set, and one layered. These are adjustable so they can adapt to various wine bottle sizes. They can also be removed for ease of cleaning.

The cooler’s cabinet is black but is highlighted with the platinum trim of the glass door frame. The tempered reversible glass door allows viewing of your collection. At the same time, with its brown tint, it also protects the wine from exposure to ultraviolet rays that could adversely affect them and lead to wine faults.

Temperature can be set using a digital thermostat control between 42.8 and 57.2°F, a range that will allow you to store champagne, as well as sparkling, white, and red wines. A blue LED display shows the temperature inside the cooler. The default setting is Fahrenheit but this can be easily switched to Celsius if you are more familiar with it.

The cooling mechanism is based on a compressor and a refrigerant with an Auto-Cycle defrost system. The thermostat has an “off-cycle” during which the refrigerated surfaces of the cooler defrost. The resulting water is channeled to a drip pan where they eventually evaporate due to the heat from the compressor.
