While most countertop wine coolers are only big enough for eight to twelve wine bottles, the Danby DWC172BL Wine Refrigerator has enough room for 17 bottles. It has two full-width and one staggered wine racks. Apart from these, the floor of the cabinet can also hold additional bottles. The flat wire metal racks are coated with vinyl to help keep the bottles in place.
With an all black exterior and interior that is visible through a tempered and shatter-resistant glass door, the Danby DWC172BL seamlessly blends with any décor, whether on it your kitchen or bar counter. It has dimensions of approximately 20 inches in both height and depth, and 18 inches in width, thus does not occupy an inordinately large area.
Stored wine bottles are cooled by a compressor and refrigerant-based cooling system that is equipped with auto-cycle defrost. This prevents the build up of ice that could result in excessive cooling. Temperature levels range from 48° up to 62°F. Dry and sparkling wines can be chilled at the lowest temperature, red wines at the maximum levels, and rosé wines at mid-level temperatures. These levels are set by an adjustable thermostat.
The door of the cabinet can be reversed to suit your preference or its location on your counter. The door handle is recessed eliminating any protruding part that could snag things on the counter. The top features a molded worktop that can be used to hold wine accessories such as corkscrews, wine stoppers and collars.
The cooler is not designed to be installed in narrow recesses. It is a freestanding unit that requires ventilation around it.
