One hundred sixty-six bottles may seem like a lot of wine for ordinary people but not for oenophiles –fancy name of wine lovers or experts. Those who truly understand the nuances of the myriad wines from different vintners and vintages can easily accumulate hundreds of bottles. This is especially true since there are now plenty of available storage systems for their collections. One is the Danby DWC166BLSRH Silhouette Wine Cooler.
This Danby dual zone wine cooler, with its 15 steel-trimmed cherry wood shelves, has a capacity of 166 wine bottles. The shelves glide on rollers when opened not only for easy pull out, but also to minimize agitation of the wine sediments. Seven of them are in an upper zone, while the rest are in a lower area.
Temperature in each of these zones can be programmed individually through control buttons and LED digital displays installed on the divider between the zones. This setting can be a low of 43°F for champagne, sparkling and dessert wines; through 50°F for white, rose, and blush wines, to a high of 57°F for red, rich red, and full-bodied wines.
Each zone has its own set of blue LED lights providing illumination to your wine collection without warming them. These help you read your wine labels that may otherwise be not visible considering the black interior. They also provide a dramatic view of the wine bottles through the tinted tempered glass door.
The door is bordered by a stainless steel trim that includes a long towel rack style handle. This blends perfectly with the black cabinet. Beneath the door frame is the exhaust vent of the cooler. With this positioning of the vent, the cooler can be installed as a built-in unit.
The Danby DWC166BLSRH Silhouette Wine Cooler is a tall cabinet, standing almost 70 inches high. It is approximately 24 inches wide, and 29 inches deep.
